What is the status of the law suit by the former building inspector? I have not heard any comment lately. The inspector is currently the subject of a great deal of controversy in the Town of Winthrop where he is now employed. He has many work projects stalled and currently in the courts and he refuses to recognize appeals granted by the local Board of Appeals. One particular project where he revoked a building permit issued by his predicessor is currently scheduled for a pretrial next week. When he was deposed for this case he stated that the construction was permitted by law but that he did not recognize the law and refuses to apply it. He acknowledged that he filed a bill with Town Meeting to repeal the law but his article was rejected and he still continues to refuse to recognize the law. The town required him to take anger management classes in order to renew his contract. Recently he was caught secretly tape recording all conversations in the building department office and when confronted he stated that he was just recording the building dept secretary whereas she allegedly made a complaint of sexual harrassment towards an individual at her former place of employment. More recently there has been a suggestion of a possible discrimination suit against him whereas it appears that he is inconsistant in his decisions and the people he appears to focus on all appear to be of Italian heritage such as Mazzoni, Ricupero, Lanza, Lentini, DiCicco, etc. while people with similar projects and even on the same street are held to a much less restrictive standard.

I wouldn’t believe any thing Bomarsi has to say. Bomarsi’s reputation in Winrthop is that his is a crook

I’m from Winthrop and yes Ed Bomarsi is a slumlord, a crook and his family/kids are screwed up. One of his kids did time in FL for murder.
He lives in Revere now. He’s a bum and not to be believed.
